Overview of all Lactation Services

As a pediatrician, I observed breastfeeding for years before I became a mom myself. I had a quick wake-up call that breastfeeding can be a difficult, messy, exhausting and amazing journey. Breastfeeding success is determined within the first few hours to days postpartum — unfortunately, many moms are unable to get the support they need early on. I became an International Board Certified Lactation Counselor (the highest level of certification achievable) to ensure breastfeeding support and maximize success to families during the crucial, initial period.

Lactation Services can be accessed in two different ways: as a Lactation Consultation or as the Complete Lactation Package. In addition, I have been trained in and practiced the Tongue-Tie Release Procedure for over twelve years and am committed to providing timely access, when needed.

Tongue Tie Release

Tongue tie is a common condition that occasionally contributes to breastfeeding difficulties, including a shallow and painful latch, cracked, bleeding and bruised nipples, poor weight gain and decreased milk supply. If tongue tie is determined to be the cause of a feeding issue, the solution is easy.

  • Tongue tie release is an in-office procedure utilizing scissors.

  • Anterior release is available

  • If you are not a member, Dr. Kopelman requires previous evaluation by an IBCLC or a lactation visit with her (included in the service).

  • Children must be 8 weeks or younger for Dr. Kopelman to perform the procedure.

  • Vitamin K injection is required prior to procedure.

    Price is $600* for non-members

Price is $300* for members or if done in conjunction with a Single Consult or the Complete Package.

*Please note that above fees represent ACH payments. In an effort to keep costs low, there is an additional charge to cover credit card surcharges. Please contact clinic for more information.
